Gate Calculator

This is a digital scientific gate calculator used during the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam.
It allows you to do basic calculations like – (addition, subtraction, multiplicatio and division etc.) and advanced calculation is (trigonometric, logarithmic, exponential, etc.) calculations.

“this is the gate calculator online allows you to perform basic and complex mathematical operations such as modulus, square root, cube root, trigonometric, exponential, logarithmic, hyperbolic functions, etc.”

You must use it correctly according to the rules below, since keyboard input is disabled and only mouse clicks are allowed.

  • Basic: +, −, ×, ÷
  • Modulus (mod): Gives the remainder after division.
  • Example: 10 mod 3 = 1
  • Square root (√): Example: √9 = 3
  • Cube root (∛): Example: ∛8 = 2
  • Trigonometric: sin, cos, tan, etc.
  • Exponential: exp(x) = eˣ
  • Logarithmic: log(x) or ln(x)
  • Hyperbolic: sinh, cosh, tanh, etc.

Things You Should Do

  • Be sure to press [C] when beginning a new calculation performing in gate calculator.
  • Use Simply an equation parenthesis and other mathematical operators.
  • Use the predefined operations such as(Pi), log, Exp to save the time during calculation.
  • Memory function for calculating cumulative totals for gate calculator.
  • M+: It will add displayed value to memory.
  • MR: It will recall the value stored in memory.
  • M-: It will Subtracts the displayed value from memory.

Explanation

Use brackets ( ) properly to make expressions clear.

Example
Compute the calculation like ( 2 + 3 ) × 4 (2+3)×4, you must type ( 2 + 3 ) × 4, not 2 + 3 × 4.
Parentheses ensure the calculator follows the correct order of operations.

Things You Should Not Do

  • Perform multiple operations when you are using gate calculator.
  • Leave parenthesis unbalanced.
  • Use for diffrent type calculation then Change the angle of unit (Deg or Rad) while performing a calculation.

Explanation

Always close every matching bracket.

  • This is Wrong: (2 + 3 × (4 – 1
  • This is Correct: (2 + 3 × (4 – 1))

Limitations

  • Keyboard operation is disabled.
  • Output of a Factorial calculation is precise up to 14 digits.
  • Range of the value supported by the gate calculator is 10(-323) to 10(308).
  • Output of a Logarithmic and Hyperbolic calculations is you can precise up to 5 digits.
  • Modulus(mod) operation performed on decimal numbers with 15 digits you can not be precise.
  • Use mod operation only if the number comprises of less than 15 digits that is Modulus operation provides best results for the smaller number.
